   I have used RAM products for years and have been very satisfied. Overall they make durable easy to use products. This mount falls far short though. As others have stated the top clip eventually breaks. RAM is good about replacing under warranty but I’ve been through three or four now over the course of a year or so. I’ve had to pay for shipping which in effect has doubled the original cost so far.

   Firstly, this mount slowly ruins your iPhone. It rubs the anodization off anywhere the plastic meets the phone: the top clip and the sides at the SIM tray. It’s also bent my phone since it’s so hard to take the phone out. The two lips at the bottom have bowed the bottom edge of my phone to the point where the home button is activated when any pressure is applied to the bottom glass.

   I’d take a picture but I no longer have my phone…keep reading.

   Secondly, as others have pointed out, the top clip breaks. It straight sheers off with no warning. Mine came off heading down the I-15 at about 70mph and took my phone with it. I was a year through my contract so had to pay nearly full price for a new phone. So yeah, I’m a little bummed right now with this mount.

   The only good news is, because my phone was so scratched and bent, I was glad to get a new one.

   It’s a shame Amazon moved customer images into the depths of hell. My picture would have almost equal weight as the stock photo…but then Amazon wouldn’t make as much money. If only they realized they’d make more by selling quality products.

   Had a ram mount with my iPhone 4 that worked FOREVER. In and out, over and over, no problem. I’ve had this new ram mount for about 6 months, and it’s broken at the top clip. Ram’s quality seems to have come way down on this one, and believe me I’ve always been very careful with it. If I mount the phone twice a day three times a week, the clip should not break like it did. I realize this is for sure a week point of the case, they should know better and perhaps inset a metal spine type reinforcement into it.
