After being pulled over by the local police and warned that it’s against state law to have anything attached to my windshield, except for the rearview mirror, I decided to find a vent mount in order to comply with state laws.

I bought several to test out, but this was the first that I tested and used and didn’t feel the need to try out any others, as this worked like a charm in my 2015 Honda Fit. Easily attaches to my center vent without disrupting the use of my car controls or the use of the touch-screen controls for the radio.

My only complaint with the ipow is that the cradle should be more secure. The “jaws” can be difficult to close correctly to securely hold your phone. However, the feet help on the bottom, but would be better if they “locked” into position.

I had been using a Quad Lock windshield mount, which is the best mount I’ve ever used, but the ipow comes close. I wish the ipow had a phone case and locking mechanism like the Quad Lock, which would make it a 100% secure connection.

A near perfect mount which could be made even better with some slight design changes or improvements.

First off, I’ve tried out a lot of air vent device mounts before and they have all pretty much relied on on the tension of two rubber pieces gripping a small plastic piece of your air vent. This can cause problems with aiming your air vents or poor stability.
This mount is far more secure. It has a spring mounted clasp which securely attaches it to your air vent. There are also “feet” to properly align the mount so it is not angled or rattles.
The holder itself is attached to the mount vie a ball socket which has about 50 degrees of tilt freedom and 360 degrees of rotation. There is a semi-rubber backing for extra grip which ensures no slippage even with the roughest jostling.
The side arms also contain soft rubbery covering so there is definitely extra grip and no fear of scratching your device. The side arms can be expanded up to 4 inches (sorry mini ipad users). Usage of the arms are self explanatory, but you just squeeze them close when your device is in place. There is a button on the side which releases the arms (smooth spring action) when it is pressed. At the bottom of the base is a small foot which your device can rest on which I feel is entirely optional as the arms and back of the base contains more than enough grip to hold your device. If you do decide to use it, the foot flips out. There is an opening in the foot which allows you to charge your phone from the bottom if so desired.

I received this product in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.The 2-in-1 Smartphone Car Mount Holder can be mounted on the air vent, windshield and dashboard. the air vent mount easily attaches to my air vent. It does not move and stays secured. The windshield mount attaches with a suction cup. I like my phone at the level I can mount it. It makes it easy to see who is calling or the map when I am using the GPS on my IPhone. It is favorite mount. It can also be mounted on the dash board, which I have not done. The mounts are very well made and hold my phone in place nicely. the phone mount can be rotated to get the best view. I highly recommend this IPOW car mount.
